Performance Band

The Performance Band is made up of students from Years 4 to 6 who have completed one year of playing in the Training Band. These students have progressed in skill, developed an understanding of rhythms and can read music. The music the Performance Band learns is more complex and challenging. 

Rehearsals are currently once a week on Monday mornings 8-9am in the school hall.

Music for the Performance Band is chosen from jazz and modern genres such as:

• Barbie Girl

• Mamma Mia

• Ghostbusters

• Seven Nation Army

• Star Wars

The Performance Band will play at several events at school throughout the year including the Easter Hat Parade, Open Day and Grandparents Day. They also get the opportunity to play at events outside the school including the Asquith Musicale, Berowra Woodchop, Carols Under the Star, Band-O-Mania and the Northern Sydney Symphonic Wind Ensemble (NSSWE) Spring Music Festival. 

 The Performance Band is managed on behalf of the BPS P&C by Key Music Australia and is conducted by Matt Dalziel.
